As I drove along the valley before dawn I knew I was in for a treat. The road climbs out of Halton Gill, and a short walk leads to this elevated view point. A perfect place to watch the mist hanging in the dale, whilst above thick grey cloud passes over Fountains Fell to the right and envelopes the skyline, with the exception of a window in the cloud, through which the brightening dawn sky illuminates the scene.
