I am a self taught photographer from southern California. My focus for the last 8 years has been the textures and shapes found in the natural landscape. I believe this attraction has contributed to my love of B&W imagery. Being in the southwest US I spend most of my time photographing the arid landscapes of the local deserts and the Colorado Plateau, which has become one of my most favourite locations.
The two most prominent features of Joshua Tree National Park are its trees and its rocks. A mecca for rock climbers and geologists alike the boulders and rocky outcroppings of this California desert landscape draw the eye and hold it. The four images here are meant to hi-lite the shapes and textures produced by a February sunset.
