Sgurr nan Gillean is one of the most recognisable peaks in Glen Sligachan and is part of the Black Cuillin, so named because of the dark gabbro rock from which the mountains are composed. It's serated top reaches to 964 metres and looks particularly formidable as it emerges from summer storm clouds.
