Bluebells: such a quintessentially British flower that gives so much joy to so many of us. I read somewhere that Britain hosts as much as 30% of the world’s bluebells; no wonder then that they are such a popular photographic subject for happy snappers and serious pros alike. Creating a novel image of bluebells has become very difficult, but nevertheless I set myself the goal of producing something that I had not seen already. Having struggled with the most unforgiving rain one bitterly cold evening (3 deg C in late May!!) I came away with just one image, but one that I am really happy with. However the very next evening and another a week later were just magical - I could hardly believe my luck in getting such stunning soft warm light and just enjoying the show made me miss a couple of shots as the shafts of light moved around. But I think that I succeeded to capture mood.
