In this issue, we have an editorial about John Blakemore’s life. John impacted so many people in the UK (and many beyond) and was primarily remembered as a kind and giving person, helping people with their projects as much as he worked on his own. I recently found out that the Museum of Making in Derby are having an evening dedicated to John, celebrating his life and including an exhibition of some of his work. James Hyman, Paul Hill, Daniel Wheeler, Alina Kisina and Jermaine Francis will be talking about his work and their own memories of John. The event will be held on the 16th of April, and you can find out more at the museum’s website.
I also heard this week that Kevin Raber, founder of PhotoPXL, advocate of Medium Format cameras and who worked for Phase One for over a decade, had passed away recently. When we started out On Landscape, I remember having quite a few talks with Kevin about medium format cameras, and he was such an enthusiastic and knowledgable advocate of cameras and landscape photography. You can find out more here.

Brendan Devlin
I like grain, and I like what happens in the highlights with film. They seem to glow. I liken it to how analog recordings sound when driven. There’s a texture and natural compression that keeps the sound from breaking. more

My Photographic Process
Once the proposal was accepted, I began further research on global warming, sea level rise and saltwater intrusion. more

A New Found Love of the Landscape
It matters not a jot if your photography is representational or more creative, whether you take big pictures or little pictures. It doesn’t matter how we capture that love. The equipment we use is superfluous. It's what’s inside us that counts. more
