"One of the draws of birch trees for me is their sense of community and how they grow in close numbers. This lends itself to exploring the interrelationships, forms and shapes within the close landscape to help us make some sense or order or bring simplicity to the woodland which can present a confusing and busy landscape to photograph.
Even as birches fall and die, these relationships persist and the fallen tress become home to a myriad of fungi and creatures who dwell in the woodland habitat."
