Sarah is a Kuwaiti based Photographer who specializes in Landscape and Cityscape Photography. Sarah's love for photography came from her father. She started it as a hobby in the early years of 2005 and evolving her passion for photography since.
Over the past years, as I was discovering myself in photography, I have seen and been inspired by images of golden deserts around the world. In the past three years I’ve been trying to explore the local desert in Kuwait, driving with a fellow photographer friend from my country as he knows his way through the harsh desert areas.
It’s not very well known but the desert in Kuwait is very dangerous as there are left over hidden bombs from the war in 1990. Also a lot of additional military left overs of live and unexploded bombs from each military training. Through this exploration I have noticed that the Kuwait desert has few good small ripples and textures but it is never like those big ones I have seen.
In February 2013 I have teamed up with two photographers from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and decided to visit the huge dunes of The Empty Quarter (also known as Rub’ Al Khali). I have been seeing a lot of images for The Empty Quarter. It is the largest sand desert in Arabian Peninsula where it covers from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman and Yemen. It is called the Empty Quarter as it is lifeless area where the lack of water precludes human habitation and to be able to go deep in that desert you have a good logistical mind as to how to get there (and back!) in one piece.
